Make in India: Samsung’s Strategic Move to Manufacture Laptops in Noida
In a significant move that solidifies its commitment to India, Samsung, a leading player in the Korean electronics industry, is all set to embark on the manufacturing of laptops at its Noida factory later this year. As the company’s second-largest manufacturing base after its home nation of South Korea, India is becoming an increasingly important hub for manufacturing, as confirmed by this development, which was disclosed by TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Experience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics.
The Development of Samsung’s Noida Location
When Samsung launched its Noida facility in July 2018, it was billed as the largest mobile factory in the world. The principal aim was to increase the annual production capacity of mobile phones from 68 million to an astounding 120 million units. With this growth, Samsung reaffirmed its actual commitment to India and helped the government’s “Make in India” campaign achieve its goals.
Noida Factory: A Symbol of Unity
Among India’s global electronics manufacturing facilities, Samsung’s Noida factory, which opened its doors in 1996, is a prominent player. It is proudly viewed by the corporation as a representation of its steadfast dedication to the Indian market. Samsung’s production center in Noida is more than simply a physical representation of the company’s long-standing relationship with India. The slogans “Make in India,” “Make for India,” and, more recently, “Make for the World” perfectly capture Samsung’s goals for the Noida facility.
The Global Perspective
“Our Noida plant, the largest mobile factory in the world, is a symbol of Samsung’s strong commitment to India and a shining example of the success of the Government’s ‘Make in India’ program,” the business stated. India has been a longstanding partner of Samsung. We shall now “Make for the World” in addition to “Make in India” and “Make for India.”
