Ashwin’s Sending Off Message for Fans

“Today will be my last day playing international cricket for India in all formats. Although I believe I still have some cricketing left in me, today will be my final day. I would like to reveal and most likely demonstrate that in club cricket. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself. Along with Rohit and a few of my teammates, I have to admit that we have made a lot of memories.

We are the last group of originals, if we can call ourselves that, to be excluded from the dressing room, despite the fact that I have lost a few of them in recent years.

I’m going to mark this as the day I played at this level. There are obviously many people to thank, but if I didn’t acknowledge the BCCI and a few of my colleagues, I would be failing in my obligations. I’d like to mention some of them. Every coach who has supported me along the way, but especially Rohit, Virat, Ajinkya, and Pujara, who have taken those incredible catches around the back to help me reach the number of wickets I have over the years.

A special thanks goes out to the Australian cricket squad, who have been hard rivals. It’s been fun to play against them. It’s a really emotional moment. I don’t think I’m in a position to answer the questions correctly, so please excuse me. Thank you for being the journalist; you’ve been writing positive things and, of course, sometimes negative ones.

I think our relationship will last forever, and I hope future cricket players will receive the same level of love that you have given them. Thank you all again, and I hope to see you all soon. As a cricket player, I’ve just stopped it, but I might continue to be involved in the game because it has given me everything.
