On Wednesday, February 28, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the list of players under central contract for the 2023–2024 season. The players’ current deal will expire on September 30, 2024. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are the most notable exclusions, having been left out of the central contracts because of their lack of discipline.
Grades and Payment Methods for BCCI Contracts
Understanding the financial aspect of these contracts adds another layer to the narrative. The BCCI has outlined a structured payment system, with each grade commanding a specific annual compensation:
- Grade A+: 7 crore rupees per year
- Grade A: 5 crore rupees per year
- Grade B: 3 crore rupees per year
- Grade C: 1 crore rupees per year
This transparent payment structure not only rewards excellence but also serves as a motivation for players to continually enhance their performance.
