On Tuesday afternoon, after a meeting of party MLAs and observers in Jaipur, the BJP announced that Bhajanlal Sharma has been selected as the next Chief Minister. Interestingly, Bhajanlal Sharma won as an MLA for the first time in this election.
Besides announcing Bhajanlal Sharma as Chief Minister, BJP also announced two Deputy Chief Minister names in Rajasthan. Dia Singh and Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa have been given the post of Deputy Chief Ministers. And Vasudev Devnani will serve as the Speaker of the Assembly. Although Bhajanlal Sharma is entering the election field for the first time, he is a well-known name in politics. He also served four terms as general secretary of BJP Rajasthan. BJP was also fielding him in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly. Bhajanlal defeated Congress candidate Pushpendra Bharadwaj by a margin of 48,081 votes in Sangana assembly seat. On this day, before announcing the name of the chief minister, Bhajanlal Sharma said that the name of the chief minister will be decided only in the meeting of the winning legislators at the BJP headquarters in Jaipur.
